Experience Helsinki with a Guided Bus Tour
A sightseeing tour is an excellent way to explore the highlights of our capital city, Helsinki. If you have more time, we also recommend heading to the idyllic town of Porvoo. Our experienced guides can tailor the day according to your wishes. Below are two examples of typical guided tours in Helsinki.
Sightseeing Tour 1, Duration 2–3 Hours
- Visit to Helsinki’s historic center, including Senate Square with its elegant cathedral and the government building. Helsinki’s Old Town was heavily influenced by the chief architect, Carl Ludwig Engel from Berlin!
- Sightseeing tour past the Uspenski Cathedral, the market square with its market hall, and Helsinki’s iconic symbol, the beautiful statue of Havis Amanda.
- Visit to the Oodi Central Library, a library showcasing modern Finnish architecture and highly valued in Finnish society!

- We stop at the beautiful Sibelius Park, where there is an opportunity to photograph the monument dedicated to composer Jean Sibelius, made of approximately 660 steel pipes.
“The guide was absolutely fantastic. She took the group into account professionally. Highly recommended!”
Where can a sightseeing tour start in Helsinki?
In Helsinki, a charter bus can depart from almost anywhere, so the guided tour can begin at a location of your choice. Common departure points include hotels, Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, or one of Helsinki’s ports.
By prior arrangement, it is also possible to bring luggage along on the tour. For example, you can check out of your hotel at midday, head on a tour to Porvoo, and end the journey directly at the airport.
Or if your flight arrives at 11 a.m. but your hotel room is not available until the afternoon, what is a better way to spend the waiting time than a guided tour of Helsinki city center? Your luggage travels conveniently with you at the same time.
Bus Terminals at Helsinki Ports and Airport
At the West Harbour (map), buses wait in the designated bus parking area. When exiting the terminal, walk straight ahead and cross the street after the roundabout. The buses will be waiting in a row in front of you.
At the Olympic Terminal and Vuosaari Harbour, buses are located directly in front of the terminal. At Katajanokka, the bus parking area is located to the right when exiting the terminal.
At Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, charter buses wait at the bus terminal. The bus terminal is located on the same level as the arrivals hall and is clearly signposted.
